Jeez Ryan, tha is like a carbon copy of what happened to me! Haw haw haw!

They have discussion forums, but are not big enough to have a discussion. Those idiots are so sure that they are "right", any disagreement with them is taken as some kind of attempt to mislead their valuable members. Haw haw haw!

However, most of their members fall over themselves to kiss big Don's butt. Yeuk.

The SDF have the attitude of Nazi's. There are people on there that would have been queueing up to man the Concentration Camps. After all, we can't allow people with other views, now can we?

Come on Don. This is cowardly of you. I's obvious that you know about the thread, as everyone knows your not so Sharp Portly spy spends his entire days monitoring the Net. Slating someone when you can "re-arrange" their posts isn't sport is it?

Unless you're a sad, wannabe, chinless, fascist of a coward.

      Bri,
I really couldn't say you're wrong on what you've said or what happened with you, I didn't witness it. I haven't seen or heard of posts being deleted, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen. And to tell you, I had started a thread that was not in their favor and it was left open to discuss. Again, I am not taking any side on your complaint about what happened with you.
I guess you get your answer of who it was.

      Ryan,
you made some of the stupidest comments as if you were the most formidable scholar on street fighting and self defense.

      1) you state nobody has the right to carry a firearm
      a) then you back tracked saying that you have the right but it can't be justified
      b) you stated that you couldn't justify use a firearm/weapon if you were robbed by an armed person
      2) you state that nobody needs to carry a knife
      3) you state noboby needs to worry about a street fight or being attacked in your area of town
      4) you suggest people carry a bat in the car and leave a ball beside it to look legal

-1) people do have the right to carry a firearm in many states and in other countries as well. you are justified to defend yourself when you feel you are threatened.
-2) there are many reasons to carry a knife. some deal with self defense and some deal with cut material.
-3) the area you live really is not relevant to self defense. crime goes everywhere. rape, murder, theft, etc. Denial of this is just ignorance.
-4) you show distain towards people who will legally carry a weapon, but you then advocate illegally carring a weapon. SMART!

I thought we went over some of this here, I guess you want to try and run your bullshit other places. I'll say that I've agreed with a lot that you've posted, but your way off on this absurdity.

      Best wishes, stay safe

        Kengar,

Look, dude. I didn't say any of those things. I stated that they probably have no legitimate reason (looming threat of serious personal harm, etc.) for walking around armed all the time.

I didn't say that nobody gets into fights in the area I'm from. I have gotten into them (albeit not too many). I said he didn't need a push dagger, an offensive weapon that has one purpose--killing people. There is no reason for him to carry around an illegal weapon that has no utilitarian purpose. Oh, yeah, and it's illegal. If you want to pretend that you're an urban (or more likely rural) commando, that's fine. It's pathetic, but it's your right.

I didn't say that you couldn't justify the use of a weapon if you were robbed. I said that such a situation didn't lend itself to the use of a weapon--that is, unless you saw the offending individual way ahead of time and took out your weapon early. I believe I said, 'what are you going to do? Distract him, take out the weapon while he's standing there, and stab him repeatedly?' Not likely.

There's nothing illegal about having a bat. I've played baseball my entire life, and I've never had any trouble for it. I have NEVER suggested arming yourself illegally.

How about you study up to increase your IQ and try some ginko biloba for your memory before posting again, eh? Moron.

Crime can happen anywhere, and Arlington is certainly no exception. Nonetheless, that doesn't justify walking around armed all the time. How about keeping a t-ball bat in the car (with a glove and ball),
Carring around a bat for the purpose of using is as a weapon could be illegal in different states, is that not why you put "(with a glove and ball)".

If a push dagger is illegal then I would not advocate carring it myself. I don't know the law of every state, they vary from place to place.

Again, people who have the right to carry a weapon for self defense do not need to justify it. If they use a weapon in a situation that did not require the use of that weapon then that's a different story. Don't know many who advocate over-kill.

And what help is a bat in your car if you find you need it walking down the street? This was the big issue of women bought mace and would leave it in the car when they were out and about.

Stack the deck for what? The time when someone bumps into you and mouths off, making them deserving of multiple stab wounds?
That is just an obsene attack on someone taking there words to the extreme. Talk about people who can't read what's in front of their face.

18.2-308. Personal protection; carrying concealed weapons; when lawful to carry

"....a weapon shall be deemed to be hidden from common observation when it is observable but is of such deceptive appearance as to disguise the weapon's true nature. "

So if you beat some poor smuk with your bat and it was deemed that you had no legitmate reason for having it in your car you'd have an illegal weapon.

Legitimate reason...like the one that involves me playing the game of baseball for my entire life up to this point? How about golf clubs? I have a bag of those in my car that I use expressly for the purpose of playing golf. They are not there for the purpose of dealing out punishment to someone who wants to shove me. I don't think I'll be arrested for having a 9 iron in my car, whereas it seems as if many SDF members would spread their collection of irons out around the house so that they are never more than 2.4 meters from a weapon at any given time. They're more worried about making it look as if they played a sport that involves the use of a blunt object than they are about getting out and doing something that doesn't involve constantly thinking about how the pizza guy with a blue hat may be wearing gang colors and waiting to assault them. And you're defending them...

NO Rayn, I don't think so. You didn't address that quote, lets look at it again.
that doesn't justify walking around armed all the time. How about keeping a t-ball bat in the car (with a glove and ball),
You told a person they couldn't justify walking around armed, even though it is legal in Va if you have a license, and suggested "keeping a t-ball bat in the car (with a glove and ball).

Edited: I can understand that some things on the net can be misunderstood, it happens, but this just isn't one of those times.

the problem, Bri, is that you rarely make sense, often deviate off topic, even get banned, but still remain undefeated

P.S. do you really remain undefeated?

I think the key point are Carrying and the (implied) intent/purpose. Carrying meaning this is a weapon on your person not stored somewhere. Intent and purpose of a weapon, is for SD not fighting or paranoia. Yes you can use a knife to cut things and I could use a gun to shoot the lock off my apartment door when I lock myself out (well maybe). A person with a stun gun, blade or gun has one intent/purpose to injure maim or kill. Conversely, I can walk down the street with a hammer (which obviously can be used to injure maim or kill) with no problem becuase of the intent/purpose. Let's say I work construction I need a hammer or screw driver etc. like rynan said BB bat or golf clubs, Now they can be used as weapons sure but that was not the intent/pupose of carrying these items. Damn pepper spray is illegal in a lot of states

The problem is even with the legal right to bear arms you still have to justify use of the weapon. If someone swings on you, that is not a reasonable situation to pull out a gun or knife and use lethal force. Long gone are the days where you can tresspassing I will shoot you!! If you do that now, while there are exceptions, you will go to jail.

It seems to me that most of the poeople who think like this are almost paramilitary and have never seen any or very little trouble. The problem is that when you go too far you are looking for trouble and cuasing it versus reacting to it.

There is a situation now in NYC where the cop shot an innocent because he was startled. I am not going into the whole stpory of course I just want to make a point this was a trainined officer on duty got startled and now a younf kid is dead.

No flame..didn't want to interupt but I thought I would add my 2.65 cents

                          Answer

O.k here is the answer stuff to all the questions. When I said they were not comprehensive I meant in the physical side. Most of the arts are things were you basically learn very little moves, probaly not enouph to do incredibly good in the situation. There basically arts you want to learn some quick sf stuff but do not really want to dedicate too much time too it. They teach you just some basic techniques and some defenses against holds. But they definitely cover the mental part very comprehensively, but the physical side lacks in compared to bjj and muay thai and all that stuff. I did take Senshido seminars and attended real classes but I did not like the atmosphere. They were always complaining that sport did not work on the street and all that stuff. I also found out they never really beat a bjj dude using the "Shreder" but apparently that was just some junk to promote there art. They complain that sport does not work too much but most mma guys could probaly take them with not too much of a problem. I am also curious about all these streetfights they claim to have. I just did not think the physical side was covered enouph in Senshido and there was too much bashing.

This is another classic. Check out the guy who's girlfriend gets raped wherever she goes......... Yeah, right.

I remember some idiot on this forum claiming that "one in every four women in the UK have been RAPED!!!!!!". And do you know why? Because you can't carry guns in the UK, thats why.

Great argument, but for the fact that the statistics are laughably way way way out. Try one in 40, and even then you'd be really really stretching it.

Yes, of course you can get assaulted. Thats why I train. But theres a difference between assessing and planning for risk - and just being a gun lovin', red necked, fish gutting knife carrying, moonshine a guzzlin', banjo playin' inbred idiot. Like Don.

This is the funniest for me. The guy they banned is a long time supporter of theirs. But, of course, he has sinned! He has disagreed with the Mighty Mods! Haw haw haw!

Phil my lad. Don't you now see the error of your ways? You joined a little boys club, didn't you realise they'd have little boy's intellects?

What did you do? Suggest that machine guns shouldn't be compulsory in schools? Hint that elderly people can walk the streets, instead of chunnering along in a Sherman tank?

This has really made my day. Fancy them turning away a "professional" writer like yourself. Well, you paid to get the book published yourself....but I bet you've got about 3% of your outlay back?

                              Philip. That's just ignorant.
