How long has it been since you've looked at a chemistry text book ?

You can allways call someone up, shoot the buzzwords and try to figure out their lingo.....guess that's how science works...

So I'm thinking "how can anybody who can actually REMEMBER Heaven be depressed at any time?" Then I realize, being bipolar or manic depressive or any of that stuff aint got nuttin' to do with what you know is real. I know this one guy (charming, intelligent, good-looking, etc.) who's never actually asked a girl out on a date or taken the initiative in approaching a girl or been able to ever do sales (as a job) because of his self-perception. I know him well enough to know that he doesn't see himself as being charming or intelligent or good looking. He knows his flaws too well and can't shake the idea that that's what everybody else sees. It's like a 500 lbs. circus tiger who's imprinted as a cub with the perception that his trainer is stronger than him. It aint' reality, it's perception. But as they teach you in marketing seminars, perception IS reality. The fact is that you are what you believe you are. "As a man thinketh, so is he." The good news is that you can train yourself to believe that you are what you want to be, in spite of the many experiences of failure feeding your negative self image, you can indeed change your perception of reality and make yourself.

On the other hand, Jaysus (as we call him down here inna South) was suppossedly perfect, what with being God incarnate and all that. So it's not likely he was bipolar. Hell, come to think of it, he prolly never even had the sniffles or a headache or the trots from eating a bad piece of fish, yuh-know-whut-Ah-mean?

Sigh, its impossible to show off in this environment, SOMONE always manages to find a fatal error in your logic.

Dont you think physics would be more popular if they changed its name to "wizard studies"?

Some of my more relevant opinions:

Jesus was not in fact the son of god, he merely beleived himself to be. This conclusion requires less assumptions to be made and so is more likely to be correct.
Even if Jesus was the son of god, he would have been far from perfect (for example, why didnt he have 4 arms, or laser eyes, or resistance to spears, or the ability to teleport? Nothing that exists can ever reach perfection).
Being bipolar is not always a disadvantage (the fact that it is quite common and has a genetic component is evidence for this).

Good point on the idea of perception though, some people seem to do very well in life simply because they beleive they are amazing.

                    Don't you mean L-izard studies?

Physics would be more popular if they named it "Hot n' Movin' Bodies"...which is not entirely a misnomer.

Yes, that rationally explains how he healed the sick, fed many with little, made the dead come back to life, not to mention move several thousand pounds of rocks sealing his tomb guarded by a small army with major flesh wounds....

Cataracts are quite common and have a genetic component. Cataracts are a disadvantage.

Perception = Reality (He believed Himself to be, therefore He is).

"He lookeh like a man" That was the whole point of becoming incarnate - to be as weak and vulnerable as we are.

The perfection of Jesus has always been understood to mean perfect in those things that matter, not necessarily His physical or temporal qualities. F'rinstance, He never sinned, He never hated (He got angry a few times, but He never hated), He never lusted or coveted or lied or cheated or stole, or disrespected His parents.

BTW, Lizard, Jaysus loooves yew! And so do I!

That's cool, Cake girl your neutrality is respected.

                              Good point on the arguments.

                              1. Weak Coorelation or coorelation is not causation.

                              2. It sounds like a prelude to genetic superiority or inferiority as a justification to a particular personal quality, depending on how its spun.

She was not meant to be... she is an abomination, if god existed he would want her deleted, and since whatever he wants to happen happens... that means if there was a god she wouldnt be here... See, thats what you get when you use terms like "all knowing" and "all powerful" to describe your gods.

Also good point about the cancer thing... But arent alot of those problems seen in old people? Old people cannot reproduce as easily as young people, thats why theres so many people with things like glaucoma, by the time the disadvantage presents itself the person has already passed on their genes. Whereas bipolar is usualy triggered in teenage years or early adulthood.

Oh and on alcoholism, thats only a disadvantge if youre in a society where there is alcohol, and for most of human history alcohol wasnt around so... it would make sense that there are alot of people who are geneticaly vulnerable to it.
