So yesterday was my first day working for my instructor. What all exactly I will be doing as part of my "job" is still be worked out. Yesterday I showed up at the school around noon, worked on some promotional stuff, did some "private" training, went to the gym and then back to train with everyone else for the evening sessions.
As the school grows and more students join I will take on more responsiblities such as helping instruct begginers and help with seminars and demonstrations all being a part of my salary which is being ironed out.
I have been training there for almost a year and trained with Tuhan Kevin Smith prior to him opening his school so I was one of his first students since he moved from Florida to here (Alabama). I train 5-6 days a week, sometimes twice a day and go rock climbing and hang out with him a bit outside of the school so I'm constantly learning more about martial arts than I ever thought possible.
I think it's a great opportunity for me and much more enjoyable than the heating and air conditioning company that I work for which is owned by my father and the DJ'ing job a do a few hours on the weekends.
Just thought I would share.
