Perhaps if our leaders read Sun Tzu we wouldnt be in this mess...
i'll highlight some of lessons clearly pointed out that we cant seem to comprehend...
"Know others and yourself" this is an obvious reference to intelligence gathering...we blew Dec 7 1941....Korea...(of course the chinese would send troops))....Vietnam..... Sept 11th 2001. These were massive failures of the intelligence community.
"Leadership is a matter of intelligence, trustworthiness, humaneness, courage and sterness"
and yet we have George Bush who has NONE of those qualities
lets not forget Sun Tzu advises against long drawn out conflicts because they drain your country's resources and cause prices to rise. Others sensing your weakness and depletion will begin to rattle thier sabers.
that sounds exactly like where we stand today...
He also advises against raising the Army twice for the same problem! hmmm didnt we do exactly that for iraq? ....
so while the art of war might not be the coolest book to read it is in fact the bible of military ops....
but hey jubaji as an english teacher you should have books to recommend...we all await your contribution of something useful as opposed to your usual uninformed opinons, and smartass middle school class clown humour.

Books to make someone a warrior? (or more to the point, to try too hard to 'show' everyone that you are a warrior). Sorry, no. Folks should read to inform and/or entertain themselves without pretense as to what 'image' they are portraying. A lot of folks here would do well to get their hands on a good dictionary. That is all.
