I'm open minded and I printed this out for full reading at a later date. Based on speed reading and looking at the pics, My only criticsisim is that it is too similar to Greco Roman in that most techniques are upper body. There is a total lack of foot sweeps or leg takedowns. I could be wrong but I'll post again after I study the printouts.

P.S. I cannot imagine a self defense system without kicks.

Finally read the printed text. Set in the 15th century Master ott's wrestling probably was an advanced skill for that day and age. It's intersting how unarmed combat has evolved for Master Ott advised against using lower body techniques and advised against grabbing the legs. His uses of leverage was o.k. for the 15th century but master ott would get us killed in modern combat. Grabbing a strong man around his torso which is was Master ott advocates is a big no no for modern combat. Master ott was ahead of his time with the promotion and advocation of eye gouges and strikes. All in all, I am still trying to figure out how he got the title of "Master". If this was intended as a comparison of the Samuari and Knight then I would say, show me the kicks, show me the weapons.

Thanks Boarspear for this 15th century writing.

I got a chance to read this over the weekend. It's interesting to see him advocating single-leg take downs back then. The rest of the site is pretty cool too. Thanks for the link.
