"It includes all of the 5,400 most frequently used words in modern standard Chinese (Putonghua). The program is designed to allow you to test yourself in six different directions: Chinese characters to English; English to Chinese characters; Chinese characters to Pinyin; Pinyin to Chinese characters; English to Pinyin; and Pinyin to English. The program includes 272 lessons. Each lesson contains about 20 vocabulary items, so after you have mastered the vocabulary in all 272 lessons, you will have mastered all of the 5,400 vocabulary items covered in the HSK (Chinese Proficiency Exam) intermediate level examination."
