  • Bots, Spyware, Hijackers & Other stuff

I've noticed an increase in these things since the appearance of our latest guests. Anyone else?

For instance, click on a new thread - it dissapears.

How does clicking on a thread that dissapears prove, or even suggest, bots, spyware or hijacks mate? Come on explain it for our amusement. In the meantime you may want to invest in some computer education mate http://www.jobsite.co.uk/vision2learn/e-learning.html

It's not paranoia, Just count the crap that gets detected and deleted by your spyware and antivirus programs. This place is a virtual minefield... My norton antivirus is going nuts as I type! SeeYa... time to delete more BS and clean up the HD.

              I'm logging off...

What is the technical basis for associating forum trolls (rightly or wrongly accused) of being in any way related to bots, spyware or hijacks?

If you knew anything about any of those things you'd realise that joining an internet forum is an irrelevance mate.

Uh oh, i was hoping it was a coincidence, guess not i wound up doing a reinstall of my OS shortly after this nonsense began...i know 2 other members with the same problems...this site NEVER set off an alarm before....not these days...clean your system, come here then run your adware programs again....watch the results

One trip here netted 38 adware items when i forgot to reinstall spyware blaster before I logged on here...oops....IF i run the firefox browser it seems to prevent 99.9 percent of this...but when running IE my adware or norton is constantly screaming...

Im beginning to wonder if its worth it.

I have never once hit spyware using this forum. may I suggest you try some other programs such as
                      zone alarm
                      Spybot search and destroy
                      webroot spysweeper

I'm sorry, no offense mate, but I just don't believe you on this one right.

People may not like others who they label trolls, but that is no justification for making baseless and spurious accusations implying criminal intent. Innit.

What is your purpose for trolling these parts?

I'm not trolling mate. But think about it logically right. Spyware is mostly advertisers - what are trolls advertising mate?
Hijacks - how can a troll infect your computer from a forum at which they are only a member unless they are also a hacker, in which case they could do a hell of a lot more "trolling" by doing other stuff like changing passwords, changing the forum logo etc.
Bots - by definition these are automated, trolls aren't bots innit.
