i just read today in the news that volunteers from iran have started their journey of trying to reach lebanon through syria to fight alongside hezbollah. volunteers in iraq have also been recruited to go fight in lebanon. muslim fighters from around the globe are already starting to make their way towards lebanon.


and do you guys think israel is going to take beating? no army in the world has been able to contain guerillas waging war on their own turf who also have the popular support of their people. israel is already taking many casualties daily, in every encounter with guerillas. israel destroyed mutliple arab armies in 6 days, they havent even weakened the guerillas after two weeks, and israel has one of the best militaries in the world.

Israeli army chiefs fear that Hassan Nasrallah, having received the nod
from Tehran Wednesday, will start firing them at central Israel over the
weekend.

Although the Israeli air force has destroyed some of these missiles
which carry a 600 kilo payload, several dozen still remain. Thursday night and
Friday morning, July 28, Israeli bombers struck Hizballah locations in
the northern Beqaa Valley where the Zelzal-2 missiles are stored.

DEBKAfiles military sources add: The Israeli army discovered the 3.5-on,
8.46 meters long missiles were stored in buildings with strengthened
floors and walls to carry their weight, their roofs removed and replaced with
makeshift coverings such as branches and twigs. These coverings are
dense enough to block the missiles from the view of Israeli aircraft but are
easily removable to enable the rapid launch of the Zelzal from inside
the building where it is stored. The warning by Israels generals about the
Zelzals deployment also applies to the Mohajer-4, a pilotless aircraft
packed with explosives. In November 2004 and April 2005, this Iranian
drone penetrated Israeli airspace undetected.

Well, it's pretty typical isn't it?

The everyday people of any country are for the most part willing to just get along with everyone else.

It's the people in power: people who want to stay in power and to have more power and more money; the people who want unfair advantages and special treatment for themselves and their friends. Those are the people who prey on the poor, uneducated, and hopeless. The leaders blame the problems on someone else, and tell the common people they need to wage war in the name of religion and country. It never solves anything and no one wins except the people in power.

The U.S.A. is just as victimized by people like this as every 3rd world country you've ever heard of. When was the last time you read or heard about a politician's son or daughter being killed in a war the U.S.A. was in?

I've never heard of any. I'm sure there must be some, but I guarantee if it did happen, they were an officer or it was an accident.

For the record Penance.
That is a relatively new concept.
Prior to Vietnam a large portion of our elected reps had been in the military themselves and their families had a strong military heritage.T he way the people treated Nam vets changed a lot of that.
A politician once used Military Service as something to be proud of which helped him gain office. After Nam, it became dangerous for someone running for office to even mention military service in some parts of the country.

The tide eventually started flowing back to a bit more middle ground, but never really regained the stature it once held, or at least not during an election year.

Today you probably find far less elected officials with family in the military than you once did. But when you elect more and more people with no military heritage the chances of them having children who join the armed forces is limited.

But even if every congressmen was required to send a child to the armed forces, what would be the point. We are currently cutting the end strength of the military by a larger number than their children would provide us. If we did accept them into the armed forces we would have to take the opportunity away from some one else.
