Its not so much a matter of personal hygene as it is of keeping the mat clean and not having loads of people trompin' all over it in street shoes and such.

and, let me get this straight; you always practiced in full sweats? All the time?

Yeah, for a couple of reasons mostly because I was parnoid about maintaining weight. Also, I sweat alot and a plus was the slight reduction of mat burn It it was not full sweats it still would be a long sleeve shirt tee and shorts. typical wresting room little to no ventilation and it was a sauna.

I agree not cleaning the mat well is part of it, but hygene is a big part.

As an aside I remember something my coach said which has always stuck with me. I usually say this to poeple I train "if you are not thirsty enough for water you are not thirsty". I thought you may relate, becuase after practice that's all the body wantys

Obviously hygene is important, but that's not really the issue with the crud referred to in the article at the top of this thread. If someone's got that shit, they've got it, no matter how much they wash. Can't wash the inside of your blood!

They shouldn't be wrestling while they are having an outbreak, but...

85% of adults in America have herpes. It's not dangerous unless you're elderly or a newborn. Most people never realise they have it.
