 Does George Washington count?
Wasnt old George a farmer prior to his service as General and President? He hardly came from the soft rich lifestyle our politicians today thrive in....and what country were his parents known for politically serving?

We are looking for a warrior whose parents politically served the United States and came from a soft-rich lifestyle in today's standards?Originally posted by BoarSpear View PostWasnt old George a farmer prior to his service as General and President? I'll have to get back to you on that one, but it doesn't mean they don't exist.

Could a rich man rise through the ranks on his talents alone? SURE, has one? probably...But find one who came from famous parents and was a warrior who rode that to leadership. One who came from a soft decadent lifestyle...you cant.

Every chance to get an edge has ALWAYS been taken by the soft elite, look into the history of the Olympics, you might be surprised where the "no professionals" rule came from....and WHAT the people who instituted those rules considered a professional.

Yeah thats totally a classic example of double talk, it also treats us like we're 5 years old for cryin' out loud...explain to me how it shows progress that we are sending 20,000 troops IN and the British are taking 1,600 OUT!....I guess Bush sees more boots on the ground as progress, YET losing 1,600 is progress also...Originally posted by Hardball View PostFunny, I read that article................then the White House shoots back with Political Double Talk. "It shows signs of progress" LOL

It really shows the lack of critical thinking ability on the part of the people who still support this nonsense spewing as acceptable behavior for the President of The United States Of America. People who WANT to believe he (and they) were right will simply refuse to step back and use common sense to see through the bullshit.

Concentrating troops on the front that they're needed most would be the intelligent thing to be doing. See why second guessing politicians is SO tough?Originally posted by Tom Yum View Posthttp://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070226/...anistan_troops

UK is sending 1,400 more troops to Afghanistan, while pulling back in Iraq.
