Last night I got the news that my Uncle "Butch" passed away from cancer.
He was a carreer Navy man. Served three tours of duty in Vietnam, a war hero in his own right. RPB captain (NCO) and one of few with twin .50s on board.
I remember well some jujutsu and Hapkido techniques he shared with me as a youngster. He was fond of wrist locks and elbow destruction techniques. Even into his late 50's he could move swiftly with his feet and fists. He knocked my brother out of a doorway and off the porch with a very forcefull palm strike to his solar plexus. My bro was quite a smart mouth brat at the time and Uncle was quick to correct the disrespectful attitude.
He suffered much for the last few years of his life fighting a dreaded disease but faced it like every other trial in his life. Boldly and quietly...
May he rest in peace.
