Point made and understood. However, there comes a point in time that in order to be respected, one needs to maintain a sense of command over the language.
When we meet someone for the first time, we instantly assess them. We look at their clothes, their comportment, their manner of composition, their speech, whether accented or not, race, and any other obvious demarcations that we use, either fair or unfair to make pre-judgements (prejudices) about that person.
Unfortunately, on a forum such as this, we only have one method for making that assessment, the manner of speech. This particular user has offered no avatar, little information about him or herself and has only posted 4 times. How do they expect to be taken seriously if they cannot use correct spelling and grammar in the title of their first thread?
Neg rep me all you want, I really don't care about the points. Most people on here think I'm nuts anyway for being a Ninjitsu guy. Believe it or not, in my own sardonic way, I was trying to help.
Some people, ref Garland, have made an excellently respected personality for themselves by using improper English. However, in his case, this is by no means a demonstration of his lack of education, rather through his crass vernacular we see his style and personality shining as clearly as the noon-day sun.
Look at the most respected members of this forum, Darianation, Tom Yum, Excessive Force, Jubaji, Thai Bri, insert more (you know who you are), there is never an issue of grammar. There is never a question of spelling. These users demonstrate their intellect for the arts mostly by the content of what they say, but it is further augmented by the precise nature (grammatically, linguistically, etc.) in which they express it.

This is of course not true for all studios, and do not replace my generalizations for my respect for studios which continue to offer complete training.
However, martial arts training is meant to be full circle. Yin and Yang have two sides. Many times we focus only on one side and neglect the other. For example, how many of us on this forum can tell you how to attack pressure points to cause bodily harm. At the same time, how many of those same martial artists could tell you how to use those same points for healing? It is essential to the training of a warrior to understand the entire circle of training.
One of the aspects of training a warrior is training the mind. I don't think there is a true martial artist on this board who would not back me up on the value of a solid, well-rounded education. We know that martial arts schools through history have offered their students an education on worldly subjects as well as martial matters. Furthermore, Miyamoto Musashi, one of the most unorthodox warriors in history, began his training though reading and even wrote a book of his own, which you quote in your own signature.
How then can you critique me for insisting on proper English and still refer to this as a forum for combat. To do so is a contradiction to proper training and a gross misunderstanding of any warrior code.

You just happened to bring up a topic that was discussed on another message board which had over 130 replies. Proper English..............So I guess that's why it struck a nerve with me. Nuttin Personal

My issue is that:
a. You feel justified in doing so.
b. You are ignoring the importance of complete training.
As I previously stated, many people on here already think I'm nuts. I'm not writing this for you. I'm writing this for those people who read it and don't post. They'll learn something.
