I suggest you look into the origin of 'Sterling' currency.
The UK just finished paying the US for war debts last year.
The US effectively crippled the UK economy and British Empire, making the UK a puppet of the US.

That's why I take such nonsense as this whole "Jingoism" thread with a grain of salt.

What's "nonsense" about it?

When Troll can explain how Britain was entitled to Hong Kong, Jamaica, parts of Africa and the Middle East, and the freaking Falkland Islands, I might start taking him more seriously in his criticisms about aggressive patriotism in America.

For starters, I've never mentioned 'aggressive patriotism in America'.
That is your own choice of words.
As for what Britain is or isn't entitled to, that's hardly my place to say.
We might as well talk about the people who are truly indigenous to the US and I strongly doubt there was ever an Apache war chief called Brewer.
