  • Japan - economic crisis - credit crunch

In the last 7 hours Origami Bank has folded, Sumo Bank has gone belly up and Bonsai Bank announced plans to cut some of its branches. Yesterday, it was announced that Karaoke Bank is up for sale and will likely go for a song, while today shares in Kamikaze Bank were suspended after they nose-dived.

Samurai Bank is soldiering on following sharp cutbacks, Ninja Bank is reported to have taken a hit, but they remain in the black. Furthermore, 500 staff at Karate Bank got the chop and analysts report that there is something fishy going on at Sushi Bank where it is feared that staff may get a raw deal.

I know its awful but couldnt resist.

Be afraid folks! Things will be worse soon and if you fail to prepare... well. Be prepared to fail...

If you had purchased $1,000.00 of Delta Air Lines stock one year ago you
          would have $49.00 left.

With Enron, you would have had $16.50 left of the original $1,000.00.

With WorldCom, you would have had less than $5.00 left.

But, if you had purchased $1,000.00 worth of beer one year ago, drank

all of the beer, then turned in the cans for the aluminum recycling

REFUND, you would have $214.00 cash.

Based on the above, the best current investment advice is to drink

          heavily and recycle.

          It's called the 401-Keg

A recent study found the average American walks about 900 miles a year.

Another study found Americans drink, on the average, 22 gallons of alcohol a year.

That means, on average, Americans get about 41 miles to
          the gallon.

Makes You Proud To Be An American!

It's called white collar gambling. Mutal funds were once considered safe.

Not to turn this hysterical comedic thread into anything serious but I just wanna suggest folks keep an eye on things like FOOD companies and grain related stocks.

Even during the GREAT crash decades ago food related stocks kept growing.
When everything else is worthless FOOD will be still be in demand.

I'm gonna be investing in some silver soon...

Not expecting any return but stability is good during hard times...

I imagine someone with a pedometer and a note pad trying to create an "average" from lethargic and obese to the pro runners and athletes...

I'm sure I walk a couple miles a day. Sometimes more.

City folks may have more desk jobs?
