I am actually very shocked and happy that I was wrong. But you know as well as I do that it could have gone McCain's way. Very easily. The last two elections had recounts, hanging chads, Bush's head cheerleader in Florida making an obvious partisan decision and other election day "quirks". I fully expected the same thing to happen yesterday.
But don't worry conservative, hard right republicans on this board. You will eventually get another candidate in the white house. History always repeats. Obama may very well fix the economy (though I doubt it) and as soon as things settle down, and we are back in progress and back in business, and feeling good about our jobs, homes and wallets, you social conservatives will chip away at that progress made and be succesful like you were during Clinton's last term.
it will be a long time before the republicans are back in office and the world will be all the better for it.
Republicans are in teh same boat the conservatives were over here in the mid 90s
washed up, old school thinking and out of step with the rest of the modern world.
We will see some quite impressive things happen now. I think its amusing when you see republican supporters on tv, seemingly lost and bewildered at the way the world is changing.
imo keep up or ship out. No room for old school stuff that doesnt work, progress evolve. But they will learn over the next 8 years and by then i expect there will be a reasonble, modern, republican candidate that will be worth a look at.

just something i wanted to pick up on there, you have to pray in school?
are you serious?
No, but religious/conservative school boards and such are endlessly trying to get it implemented in their backwoods shanty-towns and endlessly getting knocked down when the actual authorities get inevitably involved.
