    Fighting in Iraq
I've just seen the most incredible footage of US soldiers on the news.

An injured soldier on a stretcher, yet still blasting away at the enemy.

A Sergeant with shrapnel wounds. As the cameraman is trying to pull back his clothing to see the wound, this Sergeant is still shooting.

Others running towards an ammo truck (to move it) that could blow up at any time, as it is parked next to a burning vehicle.

The politics is irrelevant. these are soldiers, not politicians. But they have courage beyond words.

Were you watching the ITV News by any chance?

I saw that durung my lunch break too!

You are right about the courage. These people are risking their lives for essentially, what is a job to them. I start moaning when I have to do a bit of overtime!

I don't think they have time to think about being courageous. They're too busy trying to survive and get back in one piece. It's not about bravery, it's about survival. Nobody wants to be in a war.

swan - yes, it was ITV news!

What about that guy on the stretcher who they spoke to. He just said, all matter of factly, "I was shot in the lefg", as if he was talking about a playstation game or something.

As for them not being brave, I'm not so sure. Stil fighting when badly wounded? When people would carry you away if you wanted?

Nah, it was blood and guts courage. The kind that makes you think the human race has a chance after all.

Courage is the simple matter of putting your fear to the side and getting your job done.

To be a volunteer that willingly puts your life on the line to serve principles is courageous. But that's just my opinion.

I think the US will target Canada for all their oil reserves very soon. After all, it's blood for oil, right?

No comment. I know our Canadian neighbors are the sensitive type, so I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings.
