  • correlation between views and replies

On the BJJ and MMA forum (forum number = 1) Take the number of views and divide by 12 and you get a rough idea of how many people have replied. This means that for every twelve people who look at a thread, only one person writes a post. I think this means that the average user only writes one post for every twelve threads they read. I'm sorry this isn't a very good thread but I doubt anyone else has ever really thought about it.

I hadn't though about it, but thought I'd reply as this is the twelve thread I've read today. The TV must be really boring where you are.

It isn't true anyway. A "view" is counted every time antyone looks at the thread. Even if you write, and you get counted for every look you have.

If 10 people speak on a thread, but they all periodically keep looking to see what everyone else has said, you could see around a hundred views. And that is just from the people who have spoken.

Blah blah blah. Who gives a shit anyway?

That's complicated things up. The formula would be more like: replies = (views/12) x (replies/something). Because each person who writes a post will be likely to look at the thread again... Yes I am bored.
