  • This site is racist...

After the last post I read, I realize that this forum condones racist views and I no longer care to post here. There are obvious and derogatory racist stereotypes found within this forum (some listed below). However, I’m more disappointed in the fact that the moderators of this forum have continued to ignore such distasteful threads.

There’s an old expression: if you don’t like it then leave... I intend to leave, since most people will argue for the sake of “freedome of speech”, “freedom of expression.” Just remember though. One day when your kids are being influenced by internet predators, or racist propaganda, it’s their freedom to do so... Apparently, not everyone feels we have a responsibility to humanity, even within an internet forum.

    Have a nice life.

It's unfortunate you feel that way as you've become a great contributor, almost living up to your moniker.

    Take care,

      I dont see any racism.

Racism would be saying that a certain race (whatever that is, there's only 1 human race) is superior to another PERIOD.

I see no where that says "Chinese are the master race."

Most of those threads are showing how people with certain nationalities and heritages are usually more adept at certain sports. That's not racism (or even negative..).

Besides, freind "Chinese, Cuban, Shaolin, American, Italian..." aren't races - they're nationalities.

And, the fact that you recognize discussions about different cultural and geographical backgrounds as "race" issues maybe says that you are a little racist. I see people as only 1 race, human. Some of our ancestors were just born in different area's of the world. We all have the same 23 basepairs.....

And when he comes back I got something for that punk ass.

I'm not going to read through all those posts to try and find what your talking about. We are caught in a world were where if you say the word 'black' and associate it with a person then you have to be racist. Are you so thin skinned that you can't have a conversation about anyting, or so pathetically PC that you have to condem anyone who questions someting about a race or group?

If your not wearing a white hood or a black panther barrett, not speaking in a demeaning manner, what is the problem. Yes, saying a black guy is faster than a white guy is a bit steroetypical, but can we pull stats that show in most cases it is true. Others many be false. But if nothing derogatory is beeing said then I'm not seeing an issue.

Why did you not speak up before and make a stand then? It could have been explained then what was beeing meant or your view may have been accepted.

Though I think there have been times when moderators have failed, I'm not buying this racist stuff at this time.

Nice job digging through the archives to find that. Gee, big surprise that over the course of the many years Tim has run this site people post questions about race, ethnicity, nationality, etc. Big surprise for you whiny boy--the world is racist. Learn to deal with it. People can preach tolerance and respect for diversity and all that until they turn blue in the face and people are still going to be racist, ethnicist, nationalist, religiously intolerant, etc. Not everyone, but a lot of people. And yeah, its not right, but that's just how it is. People identify with groups. Hell, little goth girls think sorrority girls suck. Jocks hate nerds. Conservatives and liberals. I could go on and on. People classify one another into groups based upon totally arbitrary crap and make judgements on their arbitrary template. That is how the human brain works. If the human brain worked to embrace everyone then such divisiness would be the exception, not the rule. Get some fucking thick skin and grow up.

                    Interesting post. Something new.
I don't think that the threads you name are racist. The people just wonder why some groups of people are better in a specific sport than others.
The question why Blacks for example are good in different sports is easy to answer. It is more difficult for them to find a job, so they see the sport as the only way to "be" someone.
That they do not find an adaequate job, this can be racism.

This forum is not racist and this forum does not condone racist views. I barely have time to look at the forum, much less read all of the 130,000 posts.

Sage, I looked through those posts, and I think you are confusing 'racial' with 'racist'. A discussion about the differences amoung peoples - be those differences genetic, cultural or coincidendental - is a legitimate topic. Especially in the martial arts, where many of our skills were and are develped by one people or another (TKD=Korea, Aikido=Japanese, Kali=Filipino)

If this board were filled with posts on race, or if the posts you referenced devolved into vitriol, then your point might bear consideration, but neither has occured.

You should also consider that no one here has posted there ethnicity, and therefore you presume we are all white/European and also presume that we are anti-black/Mexican/whatever else (if we aren't anti-something it isn't racism - see the definition I posted below). That is an awful lot of presumption. To put it nicely.

                        RACISM:

1: the prejudice that members of one race are intrinsically superior to members of other races

2: discriminatory or abusive behavior towards members of another race

                            I should have included this...

                            prej·u·dice ( P ) Pronunciation Key (prj-ds)
                            n.

                            1) An adverse judgment or opinion formed beforehand or without knowledge or examination of the facts.

                            2) A preconceived preference or idea.

Logically it follows: In order to avoid prejudice one must examine the facts - For instance take part in a discussion about the facts- in a place like this forum, for instance.

Oh, man; that I am even wasting this much of my day on such a sorry thread is alone reason to join Spanky...
