  • Independent Ninjutsu Seminar

Wondering if there is any interest here in an Indepedent Ninjutsu Seminar. It is being held in PA in April with 5 indie schools attending so far. $67 for food, accoms and the seminar of 3 days.

If you are interested email me at bujingodai@yahoo.ca

    or post it here.

This is not a "Kan" related event so if you are concerned about that, then now you know.

Do you know more specifically which days in April and like Academian, where? What topics to be discussed? Who is running it? Can you tell me about him/her?

Being held in Bethlehem and hosted by David Falcaro Sensei of the Godaishin Dojo. As for topics discussed, we are still locking up the attending instructors so not sure at this point. It is a cross style training emphasis for independent Ninjutsu systems. Good or bad we are looking to see who will chose to show and represent their system.
I have trained there before myself and had a blast.

What system are you with Hikage?

We're both with the Bujinkan. If I remember right, Sensei Falcaro likes to put up anti-Bujinkan stuff on his site....

                Hmm OK.
Well the seminar is yes more aimed at Indies. I know Falcaro Sensei and and he was hoping to get many schools there regardless of affiliation. That particular website is pretty old as far as I know. At the very least at least the opinion stated, was stated in an educated and factual mannor. I was a Bujinkan member some years ago myself, however I have no issue with them.
Now maybe some have anti booj opinion, likely due to the fact that most indie schools have been made a zoo exhibit.
But I would understand where it may create a conflict for you.
I am just putting it out for interest. If not then thats fine.
There will be no Ashida Kim style being done there.

Unfortunately, Bethlehem is too far out there for me. Having a young child doesn't permit me to go very far for very long. Although, I am grateful for the chance.

In reference to what Koto posted. I really call into question the validity of the "conversations" with Dr. Karl Friday. They just seem too well written to be a conversation.

This is new to me. I've never heard of any discontentment from other "ninjitsu" systems towards the bujinkan other than Tanemura, for obvious reasons.

That was the only place where I've really seen anything like it, to be honest.
