I have some questions about the matchbox technique.
Is he actually hitting with the matchbox (it doesn't look like it). If not, what is the relevance of the matchbox?
Also, where exactly is he striking?
The statement that you have a two to one chance of a knockout by using this technique seems questionable.
I know you only provided the link and did not write the book so I do not expectyou to have all of the answers but if you know anything about this technique I would be interested to have these questions answered.

The target isnt the chin like in boxing, the idea is to palm strike UNDER the chin with all your force...its the neck your gonna affect...where you drive his head, his body has to follow. You may ko him with the impact of the blow, but thats just the opening move, its really just intended to put you in control by forcing the opponent on the defensive. Its a great way to interrupt an attackers intent...Its designed as a surprise opening gambit although it could be inserted at a later point.
Think of the advantage to driving an opponents head up and backward, now imagine if you can time it so that your leg is behind his leg so he cant go with the strike. Thats one of my core techniques, it allows me to throw you, guide your head into my knee on the way down and land with you in an RNC (if opponent puts his hand down to stop throw) or an armbar at minimum if the opponent doest make any mistakes (like catching himself)

boar, that clip looks alot like a normal JJJ/BJJ/CSW/whateva arm bar...just with added meanie moves....face it, part of what you train is applicable to MMA, and if you wanted to, you could create a curriculum out of what you already teach probably for MMA...think about it, jump on the bandwagon...Originally posted by BoarSpear

If he ever even considered selling out and teaching Much My Ass arts then I'm gone.
Only a complete sell out would know what Boar knows and then turn it into some soft MMA crap for a buck. That would be some souless sorry sell out bullshit.

I would rather dig ditches all day than sell out...never will I lie and tell someone a BS sport move is a reliable tool to defend thier life with....I recieved validation today in the mail from someone I never even met though...funny thing about posting here is no one cares what I say unless its to argue how stupid I am for not training MMA with them....Well after the gift I recieved today for the posts i've made elsewhere, well lets just say I see the light...you know where to find me bro...
interesting the difference response your post get when you are posting with people who face life and death situations for a living and on a daily basis, as opposed to the people here convinced sport arts are the answer.
