Well i feel with the above having been said, i have to say the state of todays soldier is indicative of the training they recieve.

Too much time is spent learning spit n polish, yes sir, no sir, cleaning floors shining shoes n folding clothes....the "right" way. And not nearly enough time is spent on how to BE soldiers...were really good at looking and sounding like The worlds most mighty military, but we traded the quality that defined a warrior for quantity of gadgets along time ago...

your kidding me right. You are the type of person that these guys are paid almost nothing to protect, and by your reply, you know i am right...everyone probally does, but with my luck, you'll keep going on and on about how you did this and that, thats cool, I had guys that i served with that also wore the ribbons and medals on thier chest in the wrong order when they were on leave.

you already infect my home state, guess when you retire, i can look forward to you down south.

              Peace that, killa

the little smiley faces are cute...pretty origional

i see by your bio that you can spell a couple martial arts words too...can you pronounce them.

LOL..............damn, you forgot the #1 rule of being a soldier and that's keeping a cool calm head.

If you wannabees were really all that; you wouldn't be telling the whole wide world so much about yourself.

LOL, Man I got a sense of humor.

Peace and pray that the war ends soon. Our boys are dying every day and now it's 5 and six at a time. War, what is is good for, absolutely nothing. Oh and for the record, I surf this site under an assumed idenity and an assumed location. Why, because unlike you, I'm not trying to make a reputation or a name. I already have both.

And actually, I use my own name (much like Burton or Tim Tackett) because I don't feel a need to hide from my own opinions. My name and contact information are no better guarded than yours are - available in any yellow pages residential listing.

And Hardball, I wasn't being spiteful. It was a chuck on the shoulder, soldier to soldier "Blow Me." That's why there were no 's or 's after I said it. However, since you made the invitation...

As far as losing one's cool, you might want to back track and review what you wrote in reply to velcro and Boar. For someone who spent time as a 13F, and considers himself a soldier, you may want to review your own rulebook. You've been among the fastest to respond with some sarcastic comment when anyone says the first thing negative toward you. If you want to troll or flame or play out your little comment wars to try to put yourself above others, go ahead. Seems like that's your own breed of "reputation building." It's a public forum, and I won't edit your trash unless you get stupid or offensive. But in the end, the people on this forum have a few things to go on when judging who they listen to and what advice they take. First and foremost, they have how constructive members have been in the past. I wonder if they'd find the "peace be with you's" you launched at Velcro and BoarSpear terribly constructive. LOL's and snide comments may make you feel like you're getting the best of the audience, but in the end, you're acting like the dumb jock bully in 9th grade who sat at the back of the class picking on littler kids for all the things he secretly does himself. It may be entertaining to others with the same infantile sense of humor, but in the end, it's just a little sad.

So how about it? What say you just chime in with useful comments and life experiences - since you were a forward observer (or is that just "assumed" too?) and attached to rangers and infantry, etc.? I'd bet that if that's not all just a part of some internet persona you've created to hide your super-secret real-life, you'd have some pretty great things to share. Some of them might even help others, if you can share them without having to bear the awful burden of people thinking you're just doing it to build a reputation or a name. Seriously, this whole board was created to share useful real world knowledge and ideas. Pitch in, would you?

And for God's sake, when you need to make a point, come up with a meaningful statement or a decent quote. Not a song lyric.
It's time for me to shut up and move on. Peace Bro.

I'd still like to hear what you have to say. In all seriousness, I think everyone would benefit from some real life lessons from someone who's been where you have. I think it may be better without the "Peace on ya killa's" and the "If you don't know what a 13F is then shut the F@$% up's" is all.

Sincerely, though. You've been in the military. You know what soldiers are like when you start dishing it out. They're gonna give it back. I can't speak for squids like BoarSpear but that's all my reply was. Let's keep it in perspective and talk about some positive stuff.
Yea, you're right. I took most of the blame. That's why I just shut up. I'd still rather spar than type a bunch of crap. LOL

Ha Ha, he is funny sometimes. I personally wouldn't worry about the whuppin, I'd just want the sparring experience. See ya, tommorow, I'm going to get laid. And, I'll throw in a few strokes for the boys in Iraq and Afganhnastan. sp
