I've kept my mouth shut on this cause honestly...I have very little reality based expierence in knife fights. Very little being none, most likley a trait i share with many people running thier mouths in this thread.

I own videos and have trained with numerous people in this area and never EVER EVER EVER EVER has what Darian is saying been advocated.

Keating doesn't advocate this grip niether does any FMA instructor I have talked to or read about or seen video of.

I have also been duped by liars in my past younger expierence. These have all been civilain instructors who were full of shit.

Darrination is not a jackass, he obviously knows what he's talking about. He practices FMA's and other 'tactical' stuff just like you, Boarspear and whoever else is in your little clique. But instead of using CMA's as his base he uses MMA's. To tell you the truth I will never realise why CMA's are more effective for hand to hand combat than MMA........Look at how different the training is. Aside from that, Darrination has very similar weapons and tactical training to you guys, and just because he claims that some techniques from the FMA's and other military based arts simply dont work, does not give you guys the right to clown him.

Why? Because MMA is more practical than CMA? Minus the iffy weapons stuff that CMA teaches, when it comes to H2H combat(the d34d1y stuff included), WHY is Chinese martial arts better than Mixed martial arts?
If CMA trains specifically for throatstriking, eyestriking(for example), a well trained MMA practicioner could strike you in the throat or eye just as well if not better.

Uhh triangle, buzz off mkay? ALL styles have techniques that dont work for everyone in every situation....Any syle that incorporates realistic weapon training is fine with me, anything that tells my wife (or anyone elses) to go to ground and grapple her attackers is not going to get my respect.

That didn't sound like what he was saying to me at all. Maybe he would still be posting on this thread if he didn't have to waste his time on immature children with solid citations and evidence such as, "Because I said so" or "An expert told me...." Seems to me that DN *is* an expert in his own right because he's actually experienced this shit IRL and survived...

But I would be interested in hearing what FMA drills and knifework didn't work for people in zero sum conflicts. Might be something useful to know. More useful than "my art is better than your art" BS, or implying that somebody hadn't trained properly if they can't execute a technique the way they did on a piece of meat hanging up in their kitchen when they have to do it in real life in a zero sum conflict where the stakes are high and they have tons of adrenaline dumping through their system and they ain't thinkin' straight.
