I only watched the first Bill Wolfe demo.

I don't like it. Too specific, and too much "if he is like this, then I'll do that, but if he is like that, I'll do this.....". In a real go the opportunities don't stay around long enough for you to make your mind up - you need to work in principles that have a wide application, not specific techniques that have a specific application.

Many people in the WW2 Combatives world believe that Defendo's claim to a Fairbairn lineage is flawed, even fraudulent. I don't know, and don't really care.....

in your opinion Thai Bri who would you say teaches usable effecient combatives?
ive noticed some people dont like kelly mccann .......some people dont like carl cestari.....would you say someone like geoff thompson/peter consterdine would be more effective?........all of these men are very highly regarded in the combat world .......what i like about thompson is his willingness to incorporate all aspects of fighting...stand up and ground.......cestari and mccann seem to be much more brutal advocating killing and maiming techniques ( which i love).....i value your opinions ....everyone.

I think we should all study widely, and then incorporate what suits us as individuals. I take bits from everyone, stealing unashamedly! Whart works for me may not work for you.

But it is wise to be very very critical of everyone. Don't fall into the worship trap. Some stuff clearly won't work for anyone as it is shite!

For example, merely to sugest that Cestari isn't the toughest guy in the world can result in open abuse from some of his fans..... They have clearly closed their minds.

Keep your mind open but cynical. Don't believe everything you are told and ensure that you believe 100% in anything you decide to use. That is the way to learn and grow.

It's a journey. In the past I advocated things that I would NEVER do now. Things that are total bullshit. I just didn't know any better!

Getting back to your post more specifically, watch out for the WW2 Combatives "Kill! Kill! Kill!" mentality. You should learn to react in a manner that is commensurate with the threat, not kill anyone and everyone you feel may be a threat. They like to say "Better judged byt 12 than carried by 6." I bet they change their mind when they're in a prison being butt fooked by 100.
