  • Article on Hassan Nasrallah (Hezbollah cleric)

An interesting article on the crisis, and Hassan Nasrallah (the cleric at the helm of Hezbollah) from the Wall Street Journal's editorial page:

In a nutshell, Nasrallah made the same mistake that Nasser did in 1967 - he thought he could reap the benefits of conflict with Israel without the actual conflict.

i dont think they wanted war with israel, they just wanted to kidnap israeli soldiers to use them for bargaining chips. hezbollah said it themselves, they didnt think israel would go to war over 2 soldiers. and now they have no choice but to fight cause israel is just gonna sweep through and kill every last living being in the area.

and what i dont understand is that israel makes such a big deal about hezbollah getting weapons from syria and iran. yet they receive all their weapons and cash from the usa. israel is currently being sent usa made bombs to drop on lebanon, why is that ok?

and why is my country, the united states of america run by israel, a country smaller than florida????

hezbollah has been in southern lebanon for over 20 years, and have waged guerilla war against israel for most of those years. those weapons in southern lebanon arent anything new. they have been there for quite some time. its only now that they are being openly used agaisnt israel. the weapons have been there since the 80s man, they are just using them now to retaliate against israels massive bombardment of lebanon.

i dont know is it? seems like most our foreign policy revolves around what they want. any demand they make is met immediately by usa. usa authorizes weapons shipments to israel faster than it authrorizes aid shipments to its own citizens who are trapped in hurricane and flood hit areas. usa sent bombs to israel faster than it sent help to hurricane katrina victims who were being gang raped, robbed, and killed while they waited for help at the astro dome i think our country needs to get its priorities straight.
