Adinkra are used by local cloth weavers, they can be seen on pottery or as ornaments on temple walls. In ancient times, it was possible to make a seal armed with a piece of wood and a pointed object. But not everyone did it. Sometimes it was much easier to buy an adinkra pictures stamp from an individual master than to try to do it yourself. Stamps made of wood were dipped in paint and left a pattern on the fabric. To fix it, it was necessary to hold the material over the fire for some time - so the paint was better imprinted and stayed on the fabric longer. The size of the stamp, the shape and what exactly was depicted depended on the imagination of the master and the manufacturer.
