Friends, please recommend a site with a detailed analysis of the artistic styles of characters in games. I really need it for working on concepts. So that there are not just pictures, but an explanation of how to choose a style depending on the genre and atmosphere of the game.

When I first decided to become a concept artist, I thought I just needed to draw well. But the reality turned out to be more complicated — the clients wanted a certain style that matched their project. I started looking for material that explained in detail how cartoon style differs from realistic style, when stylization is appropriate, and how visual language affects the perception of a character. Then I accidentally came across an article character art styles click here — and it was a real breakthrough. Everything is laid out on the shelves, with examples, in understandable language. After reading it, I was able to choose my path and finally began to draw consciously, and not blindly copy other people's work. I recommend it to anyone who wants to understand the visual language of the game from scratch.

Hello! Working on the style of characters is not just creativity, but constant analysis, searching for forms and sensations. Sometimes one detail - a cloak, a hairstyle, skin color - completely changes the perception. I have always been interested in how such decisions are born.
