  • Is concrete sealer worth the money?

Building a 100’x100’ shop and we just got quoted 45 cents a square foot for a densifier and 95 cents per square foot for a repellent. $14,000 seems plenty high but would like to seal. I was told that it was a lifetime product but if oil was not cleaned up within a couple days it would still stain the concrete. Don’t need a perfect finish but would like to keep it reasonably clean. Would a cheaper sealer from Menards be worth putting on? They have a sealer that is only 9 cents a square foot. Concrete has a nice smooth finish now with nothing applied.

No experience with that but it's one of my biggest regrets not sealing ours, makes them so much easier to clean

Once worked on a garage floor that had been treated with oxide colors for a cool, earthy look—sealed it with a mid-range product, and it helped keep oil stains from soaking in, though not totally perfect. The cheaper sealers might offer basic protection but probably won’t hold up as well long term, especially if spills aren’t cleaned quickly.
