  • Your clubs worst ever shirt sponsor?

The purpose of a professional football club is ultimately to make people feel proud to be associated with it.

Winning games of football is the main and most obvious way of doing that and not employing David Goodwillie obviously helps, but there are lots of other things that make a difference. Which is why people care about whether their clubs new home strip looks classy and is supplied by a sufficiently prestigious brand

One sure way to mess this up is by sending the players out to represent the club with a embarrassing shirt sponsor emblazoned across their chest

I can't speak for all Hearts Fans but I reckon I speak for many when I identify Wonga as the worst I can remember

That was pretty grim but what's the worst there's been elsewhere?

Worst sponsor was this IMO. Shite font, shite kerning of the letters. ATL a close second.

A club's kit is more than just a shirt—it represents identity. I still have my old Mexico jersey from a family trip years ago, and I only keep it because of the pride it carried, not the sponsor slapped across it. When the sponsor doesn’t align with the club’s values, it feels off. Wonga was definitely that for Hearts. It’s hard to cheer when the badge you love is next to something that makes your stomach turn a bit.
