Our normal summer vacation location is South Seas Resort in Captiva, but I’m guessing that will be nixed for at least the next year due to the Hurricane, so we are looking at other options. Our kids have always wanted to go to Atlantis, but I’ve heard mixed things about it. Not the least is that it is crazy expensive. Has anyone gone before? Thoughts on it?
Seeing how expensive that was, I’m trying to research Hawaiian resorts that would be fun for a family (young kids). I’ve tried to google best family resorts there but can’t find anything ’trustable’. Shockingly, flights on Southwest from KC to Maui and KC to Nassau are not much different in cost, so that’s what caused me to take a look at Hawaii. I don’t know if Hawaii even makes the most sense for us or not. Captiva is/was perfect as you got the nice Caribbean beach/ocean and a good pool situation and other activities at South Seas, and there were usually decent flight options to Ft Myers or Tampa if need be, keeping flights costs in check.
I’m open to other ideas as well. Half thought of looking at Disney World, but with Disney constantly raising their prices, it’s probably the same cost as Atlantis or Hawaii at this point.
