Marketing & promotion for residential construction/reno companies?

I'm starting a new company and was wondering if anyone could suggest good resources for marketing.

I've actually spent 25 years in web development, but all of my marketing was directed to businesses rather than consumers and most of my new clients were through referrals.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Word of mouth worked best for me, but I also started posting short before-and-after videos on social media and got a decent stream of leads from locals in my area that way.
