  • Lawn advice - Milorganite

I follow the Grass Pad Idiot Proof schedule - just the main fertilizers plus this year I added two applications of fungus preventer. I used two different products from Home Depot based on the advice here. My next scheduled application will be the renovator when I overseed around Labor Day. I'm curious about milorganite though. I know it was lightly touched upon in a previous thread, but I can't recall the advice. A few backs when I was buying my spring fertilizers, I had asked the Grass Pad guy about milorganite as well. He thought it wouldn't be a bad idea around July given the break in fertilizer applications from them.
I know a few people on here use milorganite as well. So what's the advice? Is it beneficial to apply now in between my Grass Pad applications? Or is it pointless? Would it help the grass during the heat of July?

Right now is a really tough time for lawns in the KC area. I don't think I'll do it since I've added a slow release fertilizer recently. Don't forget a grub control if you haven't.

I used to only throw down Milorganite twice a year but had way better results once I bumped it to monthly during the growing season. The slow-release iron really greens things up without burning. If you're around south Florida, I’ve seen some great work by landscaping pompano—might be worth checking them out if you’re thinking of leveling up your yard game.
