  • Eating alone in restaurants

Would you, or have you, had lunch alone in a London (1 Michelin star) restaurant?
A seat at the chef’s counter looking into the open kitchen.
Trying to decide whether I am brave enough.

Absolutely do it! I’ve done it at Michelin star restaurant elsewhere but not in London (yet) but not at the counter - that would be even better

I usually bring a book or scroll on my phone between courses, I ended up enjoying it more than expected — had my book with me, took my time with the food, and people-watched a bit. Some restaurants actually made me feel really welcome even though I was on my own, which made a big difference. I try to pick places that have a relaxed vibe and don’t make a fuss about someone dining solo.and I’ve found staff are often extra friendly when you're on your own. It’s actually really relaxing.
