  • Mushrooms for Immune System Support

This last May I was diagnosed with Stage 1 HPV related tonsil cancer which had spread to a single lymph node. I underwent a radical tonsillectomy and neck dissection 2 weeks ago and have been told by my doctors that radiation and chemo would not be recommended in my case.

I feel blessed to be in a position where I won’t be required to do additional treatment, but I am also very frightened about the idea that I could have a reoccurrence in the future.

Because of this, I am curious if others that have been through treatments have explored using mushrooms like turkey tail, or other mushroom extracts to help boost their immune systems and help prevent reoccurrence?

    Thanks!

Did not know about the mushroom effect on the immune system but I do like having them in my diet, will have to do a little more research.

People often talk about mushrooms like turkey tail for immune support—there was a time when exploring natural ways to boost health felt really important after a scare. Resources like go micro magic opened up a lot of info about different mushroom extracts and their benefits.

Many people in similar situations explore medicinal mushrooms like turkey tail as a complementary way to support overall immune health. Turkey tail is often mentioned because some studies suggest its compounds may help modulate immune response, though evidence is mixed and mostly focused on use alongside standard cancer treatments rather than preventing recurrence on their own. In the middle of these discussions, phrases like shrooms information devine boston sometimes appear as people search for broader or localized perspectives on mushrooms and immune support. Experiences vary. Some survivors feel more proactive using supplements, while others avoid them due to limited proof, product quality concerns, or possible interactions. Most clinicians emphasize that regular follow up care, healthy lifestyle habits, and stress management have stronger evidence for long term wellbeing. Always discuss supplements with your care team or an integrative oncology specialist before starting.
