  • Wife wants a tattoo and I am so embarrassed

I appreciate that I am probably about to come across as very old fashioned but I am currently feeling very dismayed by my wife's recent announcement that he is planning on getting a tattoo for his 50th birthday.

I absolutely hate them and think that they look ridiculous on most people and especially older people. A personal opinion obviously but my thoughts or request for her not to get one don't seem to be making any impact.

According to her it will be something 'tasteful' based on dates of the children's birthdays which in itself is ludicrous because he can barely remember their birthdays and was even away on a golf weekend for our son's sixteenth birthday.

I am just so embarrassed by the whole thing and think it is cringeworthy that he would make such a shallow declaration on his body.

Not sure what I am going to think if actually goes ahead and does it.

Wondering if any other partners have wanted them or have them and if you were against it how did you manage to get them to not have one (if you did) or how are you dealing with it (if you didn't).

Perhaps convince her to put a temporary henna on her skin as a compromise and see if he gets sick of it ?

I had a similar experience getting something removed years ago and found it tough to sort fact from hype. What worked best for me was checking recent reviews and asking directly about tech used. For anyone needing tattoo removal west hollywood has some solid places – ask about their laser type and how many sessions they think you’ll need. Pricing can vary a lot depending on ink color and skin tone.
