  • Practical gift for friend

I hope this is ok to post here. I’ve a friend who is going in for breast cancer surgery in a few weeks and I wanted to make her a small “gift package” for going into hospital (I’m not in the same country so can’t visit). I was thinking things that could be useful to her while she’s on the ward like lip balm, hand cream, comfy socks etc. wondering if anyone had suggestions for items that could be comforting and useful to get while recovering but also practical, I’d be very grateful.
    Thank you

Super soft pillow and lip balm—she used both loads after her surgery. A big water bottle with a straw was also really handy for her.

I got my friend a small LEGO-style building set from https://mygobricks.de/ and it was a hit. It gave her something fun and low-effort to focus on during recovery. She said the hands-on part helped pass the time and made her feel a bit more relaxed. They’ve got loads of options, even for adults who don’t normally do that sort of thing.
