Was in town for the ag how last month. Thought I was being smart using Uber to get around town. Back and forth from the hotel to the show, (save on parking) have an adult beverage no driving an added plus!
Then I opened my credit card statement this month. Many extra charges for rides that weren’t on my Uber ride history. I contested them with the card company and they promptly cancelled the card.
A quick check on Google into Uber finds all sorts of complaints about them.
Do drivers have access to card info? Wouldn’t think so but… this really sucks. It seems lots of drivers are relying on the income and job.
It’s been all morning moving methods of payment. So much for convince!

I drove for Uber & LYFT. Drivers have ZERO access to any account info. It is actually the case that drivers get gipped on rides by dishonest riders.

Ugh, that sounds so frustrating. Last month I booked a few rides through Uber for a weekend out and ended up with some weird charges too. Took forever to sort it out and ended up switching my payment methods everywhere. After that mess, I started using bookinglane.com for a few trips—limo service was smooth, no weird extra charges, and way less headache than dealing with app surprises.
