I apologize if this is the wrong forum for this but I couldn't find a category for interior lighting.
I am building a 30x30 shop on my property and have a question about illumination. The building has 9' high ceilings. The shop is mostly for woodworking and repair projects. I want to use LED fixtures. I'm having a problem figuring the required lumens for the space I have. I need plenty light but not so much it can be seen by the ISS!
Except for some cabinetry the walls and ceiling will be white painted drywall.
    TIA for any guidance!

Bump that ceiling height to at least 12'... moving 4' x 8' sheetgoods in a 9' height has challenges especially if your fixtures are in the field of movement.

I went with LED strips spaced out over each bay and mounted them higher to avoid shadows—made a big difference. I used a mix of 4000K and 5000K, kind of balanced the warmth and brightness. If I had to do it again, I’d probably go all 5000K. I got everything from Letslighting and it’s been holding up great in the shop—no flicker, no weird buzzing.
