Hi queer loves, how is everyone dealing with the absolute obsession with knowing the sex of your pregnancy? Even this app - every day it’s like find out the gender! plus family, friends. I don’t have any judgment of people’s decisions to find out or not - what I’m getting at is it’s often the first thing out of someone’s mouth when they know you’re expecting. If you aren’t finding out the sex or if you aren’t telling people, what have been some effective ways to get people off your back about it?

I just kept it simple with a “we’re waiting to be surprised” line and it seemed to stick. People still ask, but then I’ll joke, “Trust me, you’ll find out soon enough!” It helps to have a little laugh ready. Also came across https://sites.google.com/view/the-fr...fect-of-ident/ and it made me think about how obsessed we get with labels and categories—it’s wild how much people fixate on the “what” instead of the “who” of a baby.
