  • Just landed here from PcLinuxOs

Hello all, I'm new here to linux mint, I've been running PcLinuxOs for a long time, but have neglected all my old computers for a couple of years. I've been doing mostly everything on my android phone, but had to fire up a laptop to do some bank stuff & the only one I had working is a lenovo thinkpad that I inherited from a family member, which has windows 10 upon it.
after fooling around with that windows a while it became clear that I must install linux on there so looking around at pclos stuff, I wasn't even able to go to their website or anything, it seems to me that they must be defunct (if anyone here can confirm or deny my allegations, that would be cool, lol anyway, I started looking around for a different distro to install & landed here. I've downloaded cinnamon & etcher, have it on a usb stick, have run it live on the windows machine & it looks like I'll be installing it as soon as I back up a few things. I'm looking forward to getting back in the linux world in a minty fresh way !

I also could not reach the PcLinuxOS website, too bad, I heard good things about them, I hope the distro is OK.

I’ve been hopping between distros for a while, and testing PCLinuxOS helped me compare rolling setups pretty easily because it stays stable even with frequent updates. If you’re checking out new releases like this one and want something that feels smooth for daily use, PCLinuxOS gave me a good baseline to judge how other systems handle updates and desktop polish.
