So, as I posted several weeks back, I had to remove the tank off of one of the toilets in my house. I decided to go ahead and fix some issues with the "stool" as it's called. Like rocking. Several others issues had stopped me from putting it all back together. So I get down in the floor and start to clean up everything and notice for the first time that I apparently have a leak under the stool. The cast iron flange is very rusted! The slots for the bolts holding the toilet to the floor are almost completely rusted away! Our house is approximately 45 years old. It's on a cement slab foundation. Isn't the flange either welded or screwed onto the sewer pipe? And don't you have to break away all the cement before using a special tool to break the pipe below the flange before welding a new flange to the sewer pipe? Or is there a repair kit now that doesn't require all of that? The mounting bolts don't line up correctly at all or want to tighten properly! One is too far forward and the other is too far back. Ideas? I'm expecting several thousand dollars!

I ended up sorting a burst pipe through https://www.pm247.co.uk/services/plumbing/london/ after getting fed up with long wait times elsewhere, and they were at my place in under an hour. Prices were pretty fair for London, and the one-year guarantee was a nice bonus. If you want someone who can handle emergencies fast without faffing around, they’ve been solid for me.
