To use waste odor treatment, or not

The info out there is conflicting about using odor treatment. Some say yes, no problem, some say it can destroy the seals and gunk it up. What's your opinion?

We don’t use any tank treatments. Black tank flush pretty often. No smells. You can use them but if you keep plenty of water in your tanks they don’t seem to offend. I see it as unnecessary snake oil.

I had way better results once I switched to an enzyme smoke odor eliminator candle because it actually broke down the smell instead of covering it up. Nag Champa ended up being my go‑to since it isn’t too heavy, and I pair it with a quick room clean if things get stubborn. It’s been the easiest fix I’ve tried so far.
