Wood floor guys. Need some help with a stain on the floor

Friend of mine bought his own place and is moving out of his apt. When he started moving some of the plants he noticed that one was leaking and had a big wet spot. He let it dry and this is what it looks like now. I don't think there is anything that can be done other than the apt complex sanding the floor and he's gonna get dinged for damages. Is there anything that can be done for something like this in a floor?

Have the whole floor re-sanded and re-stained and keep your fingers crossed.

A water ring like that usually means the finish is shot, so cleaners won’t do much. I’ve had spots like that blended out by a pro doing a light resand and stain touch‑up, and it looked way less scary than I expected. I used Floor sanding in Kent for a small repair once, and they handled the patch without needing to redo the whole room.
