  • Advice on new printer

    My Ricoh seems to have died a death and needs replacing.
    I have two choices;
    SawgrassSG500 or an Epson Ecotank ET 2814

    I have read reports that Epson is prone to ink blockages if not used regulary,Is this true?

    We run a range of printers and have two of the A4 Epson's, 2750 and 2850. Never get any blockages but as with all printers they need to be used regularly to avoid any issues.

      For smaller runs where I need durable, waterproof tags, I lean on a colour label printer since its pigment inks hold up well outdoors and dry fast. For actual sublimation, though, I stick with Epson’s dye‑sub models because they bond cleanly with polyester blanks and keep colors bright. Pairing both setups has saved me headaches, especially when I need labels and transfers ready to go without long wait times.
