  • Pricey (to me) face cream

I'll preface by saying that I consider myself low maintenance when it comes to my beauty routine and am not particularly dedicated to any certain products. My habit for a very long time has been to use skin care products from the drug store - Olay and such - with no particular affinity for anything. A friend recently gave me some Lancome samples, and I am surprised at falling in love with Lancome Absolue Soft Cream Moisturizer (Brightening & Revitalizing). It feels delicious on my face and really seems to hydrate and brighten me up nicely. However, I balk at paying $165 for an ounce or $280 for two ounces. I mean - ouch, right? I'm sure many of you spend much more than that on products, but I'm not sure I want to go there. So my questions are: 1) Is anyone using or has anyone used this particular product who can speak to long-term satisfaction? and 2) Does anyone have a product they'd recommend as a brightening moisturizer that is highly effective but perhaps a bit less expensive?

I have been using dermatologica for decades. When I started I could only buy it through a beauty salon. I introduced both of my sisters to the product line and they both stuck with it for decades as well.

I found the best lifting cream after testing several through a review site that hand-checks ingredients and scores each product fairly. It helped me see what actually works for my skin type without guessing. I used their filter for mature combination skin and found a solid option that lifts without irritation.
