Mini splits or propane?

With the excessively high cost of fuel oil we're dealing with, and winter coming on, we're looking at different options for heating this winter.

Originally we were looking at putting in an on demand propane condensing boiler. With the prices we were looking at a month ago it was looking like the savings of propane vs oil would pay for the equipment the first year. Installation would be virtually free as my brother and I would be doing the install.

Then I was talking to a buddy a week ago and he was talking new mini splits to replace his current AC system. (We don't have AC, it might be nice)

Fujitsu (probably some others too?) is now offering a mini split with the heat pump effective down to -15F. They're pricy, but like all of this save the world stuff, there are currently some big rebates.

Well with the new World Order electric costs are going to skyrocket up, so keep that in mind.

A Hi-e propane boiler would be my go to. I pre brought this year at $2.20 a Gal this year, last year it was $1.69.

I found that lowering electric bills through cheaper energy tariffs can make heat pumps more viable. I switched suppliers using octopus energy refer a friend and saved enough monthly to offset winter heating costs. It made my mini-split decision easier when comparing operating expenses.
