I live in Oregon and have hunted a lot of the west. I've always drove with buddy's wherever we've hunted. This year however I have a coveted rifle deer tag and I'm not sure if any friends or family will be able to go. So I thought about burning some air-miles and flying and renting a rig when I get there. For those that have flown for a hunt would you mind sharing some tips on the following.
1. Transporting your rifle, ammo, knives and gear through the airline.
2. Get your meat back home.
3. Getting your trophy back home to mount if you get lucky to get a trophy animal.
4. I'm assuming renting a vehicle is like any other just make sure you have one that will get the job done.?
5. Anything else you can think of that may make the trip easier if I go that route.
Thanks in advance for your advice.
