  • Open Training Question

Hi gang, I have a question for all of the competetive fighters, regardless of style. Do any of you use a strength & conditioning coach/trainer in addition to the primary teacher/trainer you have in your chosen fighting style? What I'm getting at is, how many of you are training with sport specific strength, conditioning, and power training with things such as weights, plyometrics, complex training etc? And if NOT...how many would be willing to employ this type of work if it were available to you from a reputable source? Lastly, what would you expect to pay for this person's services (hourly rate, monthly fee, % of ring winnings?)
I'm interested to hear your thoughts on this topic. Thanks.

Hey southpaw, train 2-3 times a week in conditioning (outside of my classes). I workout with weights, plyometrics, calisthenics, interval training and some cardio.

If I was a single guy trying to take my fighting to the next level, I'd consider hiring a strength & conditioning coach. Ideally I could do this in a class with maybe 3 or 4 other guys, because it helps for motivation when you're burning and you've got 3 guys hollering at you. It might also be easier on the wallet for several guys to do it at once.

How much would I pay? per hour - $15 per group class
