  • Xenadrine EFX (Ephedra free)

I use to think that all weight loss supplements were a bunch bull. Then now that there is a ban on ephedra, I'm hearing a lot about how well supplements that had an ephedra/caffeine/aspirin mix actually had some good results on weight loss. Now that ephedra is being pulled off the market ephedra free Xenadrine EFX is being promoted as a safer and more effecient weight loss supplement.

What are your thoughts on this or other ephedra free supplements? Did the removal of ephedra decrease it's effectiveness? Has anyone tried it?

I want to sit on my lazy ass and eat everything I see but I want a supplements that will do all the work for me.

Nah man, I've gained plenty of weight over the years from mainly drinking too much beer. Well, I decided to give up the stuff and start weight training again so I know that I will lose some of it due to the fact that I don't take in all those carbs and calories anymore. I was wondering if taking Xenadrine EFX would speed up the process a bit, if at all.

No amount of thermogenics is going to help you lose weight if you don't eat right. If you look on the back of every thermogenic, they will telll you, "use in conjunction with a diet and exercise plan."

If your looking for the easy way out, save alot of money and get liposuction. Otherwise, the "push away from the table" supplement is a good one.

As to your original inquiry, products with ephedra/ephedrine are vastly superior to those without. Caffeine coupled with ephedra has been proven to be much better than ehpedra alone. Based on my own personal experience, the supplement that I used did in fact work... however, mostly more on the insane energy and pump side of things. It did effect weightloss somewhat, but it was nothing to get excited over, nor was I able to differentiate between loss of body fat or loss of body water.

Ephedra/ephedrine based products are diuretics (basically, it sucks your body and skin dry of liquid so you get that "ripped" look... body builders take it before photo shoots for that effect). Hence, loss of body water like woah.

Ephedra free products effective? Compared to it's predecessor, not in the slightest. Safer? Sure. Ehedra/ephedrine is dangerous and can mess you up physically and mentally when abused or if you are predisposed to certain conditions... key word being "abused." (That's why it's being banned, some people just don't know anything of self-control... and the FDA is too lazy to regulate it.)

In short, I'd say don't waste your time with any products free of it.

Thanks for the info fellas. As far as supplements go in general a good diet and exercise program is recquired for maximum efficiency. It's a given. The difficult part is assessing whether the fat you lose is entirely from the dieting & exercise or if the supplement helped improve one's results. I can give someone a sugar pill (placebo) and tell them, "Here, it's an ancient Chinese remedy. It will help hive you the maximum weightloss you could hope to achieve. Ofcourse you need to be on a good diet and exercise program." If they follow the diet and exercise correctly they will lose weight. They will then believe that my sugar pill was an important part of their weight loss when it wasn't.

Anyway, I'm gonna try the Xenadrine EFX (ephedra free) for a month. Just to kick off my dieting and exercise. If I feel that it gives me extra energy or I get any benefit then I'll judge from a month to month basis whether to continue using it. Thanks again for the replies.

caffeine, Ephedrine, Amphetamine....they all are central nervous system stimulants, but they have the nasty side effects associated with heart rate increase, elevated blood pressure, increased afterload and etc, etc. If you are truly looking for a supplement that can improve performance (speed, reaction time, endurance, and all that good stuff) Try a product called ATX (it is designed for fighters and is a good product) or BODYQuicken (a neuromuscular enhancer) both are great and have no stimulant type side effects.
As far as weight loss goes, eat less and more frequently (5-6 small meals/day) cut out soda, processed foods, etc and train more.

You have to get your metabolism working good. Try to eat 6-8 meals a day. But make them small. The more times you eat the more your metabolism has to work. Same as everything in your body, the more excercise it gets the better it will be.

And drink lots and lots of water.
