  • How much do you lift?

well at the moment my dumbells are 8kg's each. Im definately going to add more weight this weekend, moving to 10kgs...12 then probably 15+
Im just wondering what a good weight is to be lifting, i dont want a body like arnold swazeneggar, just normal like bruce lee etc.
    im 17.

So everyone could you post how much you lift (kilograms if possible ), your age and comments.

Don't worry about loooking like Arnold. It's hard-if not impossible-even if someone wants to look like him!
As long as you continue to increase the weights gradually, you are gaining strength, some size and definition, considering that you are eating a sensible diet.

well for biceps and triceps I generally use 10 lbs. And for bench cause I dont have more wieghts at the moment is 50 lbs. But if you do enough reps it does get harder.

If all you have is 50 lbs, id say your better off just doing pushups and incline pushups until failiar. Basically id say do the weight that you think is harder to do, if its harder to do 15 good pushups opposed to 20 reps of 50lb bench then do the pushups, or you can just do both

Well I only started lifting about a month ago so this is still what I am doing. I have never really done any weight training before and biceps and triceps arent generally used for lifting.

All the jobs I have had till now have been a lot of heavy lifting so I have very strong shoulders and legs. Legs are also from skateboarding as well. I am fairly out of shape though because of all the laying around I have been doing since I broke my leg(skateboarding).

Recently i have been working more on endurance training so i can only do about 190 pounds. When i lift on a regular basis i can do about 215, probably more if i got really serious with it.

ive heard skullcrushers mentioned quite a few times on here and from what people say they seem quite potent. nobody has said what they actually are tho!

i dont suppose you could explain what one is could you?

                        cheers

lay down on a bench or floor or whatever. Put your arm straight up, bend at elbow till weight is behind your head. But dont move your arm from the straight position it was in just bend at the elbow. Rinse and repeat.

the last time i tried to max out on bench was 4 years ago. I maxed at 175lbs. I don't think i could do it again as I don't really have access to weights any more. Sorry but I dont know how to convert to grams. Stupid american standard of measurement.
