Are you guys for or against caffeine?

Personally I think its ok, but I don't like to drink caffeinated drinks before a workout because it puts too much strain on my body and makes me feel like puking. Does anyone know off hand the negative side effects (short-term and long-term) and the benefits of caffeine?

Can't drink too much coffee these days because I get a crash after the high. Tea and red bull seem like a steady and even source though.

I cant even think of getting out of bed if there's no coffee.

I was working with a *group of gentlemen from Mexico* last year doing some roofing repairs and the only thing they ever said to me whenever I would go to the convenience store was "Red Bool".

          caffeine is good

caffeine is a god given natural stimulant that can act as a fat burner. the hard part is to find a good source of the stuff. about an hour to half an hour before a workout i'll drink some unsweetened tea or some of that arizona green tea that is sweetened with honey and supplemented with ginseng. the important thin is to stay away from products with manufactured sugars, these can hurt our workouts b/c they spike our insulin.

train hard, play hard, love god and country

Tom caffine is as appetite supressant as well as causing you to burn more fat.But it also causes your body to slow the rate at which it absorbes water which is probably why you feel sick durring workout.Teas are the best sorce of caffine while drinks like pepsi max contain the most caffine.I hope you can find something of use in what i have psoted.

yes, i think tea is the best natural source of caffiene. and it doesn't contain any processed or manufactured sugars. however i also find fat burners such as stacker 2 a quick source for caffiene if i'm pressed for time. they can also be great energy boosters.

"Caffeine increases alertness, awareness, and the ability to perform tasks. But with excessive doses, this merges into nervousness, jitteriness, and severe tension," Lipman said in a news conference. "With overdose in susceptible people, seizures can occur." (Webmd1)

Caffeine is also know as a diarhetic which reduces water retention and could cause heat strokes, increase blood pressure, and so on. Be careful about more than what would be advisable and you can consult with a doctor if you are still not sure of its affects.

                          TY,

If I remember properly, Caffiene boosts the action of Fatty Acid Carboxylase and this helps burn fat. Black tea has about 40 mg per cup and coffee has 80-120 mg. Coffee and Red Bulls give you an instanteous big hit where as tea has tanins that that slow the uptake of caffeine into the system, giving a lower but more sustained boost. So, I'd say tea is best.

                          Cheers
